Adoption Process

Please note the application process requires a $10 donation to Smooch Pooch Dog Rescue to cover the expense and time involved to process your application and to ensure your commitment to adoption. We kindly ask that you pay the fee upon submission of your application via Paypal. Our Paypal email is smoochrescue@yahoo.com or click on the donate button on our home page. You do not need a Paypal account to pay the $10 donation via Paypal. The first step in our adoption process is to complete an adoption application. We also require a home check and if approved, an adoption contract and adoption fee. The adoption fee varies per dog depending on their medical needs and ranges from $250-$650. Once we receive your application, if it seems to be a good match, we will contact you to set up a time to meet the animal you are interested in. We ask that you complete our application prior to coming to meet our animals that way we can ensure the animal you are interested in will be a good match. We DO NOT operate on a first come basis but rather the best suited home for our animals. We typically only adopt in the Southern California area and we do not ship our animals. Adopting a pet is a lifetime commitment. Please also remember the time and cost involved in owning an animal, which can be costly, ie: food, supplies, vet bills, boarding, grooming, training, etc.
