Shih Tzu Rescue of Central Wisconsin is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization made up of volunteers dedicated to saving the lives of abused, abandoned and unwanted Shih Tzu or Shih Tzu mixes. Our organization is funded entirely by donations and adoption fees from wonderful people like you. All money collected is used for medical care and other dog related expenses. We are based in Central Wisconsin, and are always looking for wonderful, loving homes to foster or adopt our Shih Tzu.
Please be sure you have thought about your decision to adopt before submitting your application. Depending on the availability of people to do a home visit in your area it may take two weeks to get your application approved. Our volunteers spend their time and money (for long distance calls and gas) checking references and doing home visits which we are happy to do to for the dogs. Each and every dog accepted into the program undergoes a physical examination by a veterinarian, is spayed/neutered, brought up to date on shots, heart worm checked, started on monthly heart worm preventative, dewormed, has a dental if needed, micro-chipped and will have any other medical problems addressed prior to adoption. We have no shelter, all of our dogs live in foster homes in the Wisconsin until we find them a forever home. Because we do not have a shelter you will not be able to come and meet the dogs unless we are at an event or you have made an application. The adoption fees are based on the age of the Shih Tzu and range from $175.00 to $450.00.
