SDRO is an IRS designated 501(c)(3) charitable organization. Our mission is to rescue and re-home dogs age 6 and up; older dogs left at shelters; dogs whose owners died; and dogs whose families came apart. SDRO's all-volunteer board consists of a Board President, Vice President, Treasurer, and Secretary. Volunteers also serve on committees such as fundraising, adoption events, advertising, social media, and communications. New volunteers are always welcomed and celebrated. Join us!
1. Fill out an adoption application. Return it online or print out and mail. 2. We review applications as they come in to find the best match for each dog. This can sometimes take a week; we appreciate your patience! 3. If your family is the best fit for a pooch, we'll call you to set up a Meet & Greet. (Because we don't have a shelter and all of our dogs are in foster care, the Meet & Greet is the first opportunity you'll have to meet the dog face-to-face.) 4. Love at first sight? You'll sign the Preliminary Adoption form, and begin your 2-week trial. During this time, SDRO is available to answer your questions. We even have a no-cost-to-you certified dog trainer to advise you.
