Second Chance Humane Society has been working with the Ouray, San Miguel and Montrose County communities and beyond since 1994 to address the needs of homeless pets of this region. We save lives through our Shelter Programs & Services while developing effective Education and Prevention Programs.
You can view our available dogs and cats online, or visit with them in person at our shelter located at 177 County Road 10 in Ridgway, Colorado. Public hours are Tuesday through Sunday 11 AM - 6 PM (or by appointment) but for the month of September we will be closed on Tuesdays as well. Complete our adoption application to bring to the shelter. Our adoption fees vary depending on age and health of the pet. All pets adopted from Second Chance are micro-chipped, spayed or neutered, and will have had at least their first set of vaccinations.
