Saved by a Whisker is a non-for-profit, no-kill, rescue helping abandoned, stray and feral cats in Abington, Solebury, New Hope and Kimberton, Pennsylvania. Our rescue started in 2001 helping a large local cat colony behind a Dairy Queen. We have assisted Abington Township animal control since 2001 with stray and feral cat calls from residents. In 2005, we initiated and helped draft and pass the first township outdoor cat ordinance in Pennsylvania. In 2006, we expanded our assistance to Solebury and New Hope townships and again in 2010 to Kimberton. Saved by a Whisker is an all-volunteer group of compassionate, dedicated people of all ages, from all walks of life who just want to help cats. We work with local township officials, police and firemen, business, schools, neighborhood and community organizations and many others friends assisting with tasks, large and small, all for the cats. All monies donated and raised go directly to costs of care for the cats. There are no administrative expenses or salaries of any kind.
Interested parties are required to complete an adoption application in full that includes a veterinary reference and other pertinent background information. Our adoption fee helps to offset the costs of veterinary care for rescued cats which can be considerable and also covers microchipping. The adoption fee is paid by check or cash.
