Our mission is to provide shelter and medical care and find new homes for homeless pets; provide community outreach programs, as well as reduce the number of unwanted litters through our spay/neuter programs. SCHS is a private non-profit humane agency caring for more than 1,200 animals each year and relies solely on private donations.
Our adoption process is focused on the welfare of the animals. It includes an application, personal and vet reference check, and a brief interview. Our goal is to do what is in the best interest of each animal in our care. The adoption fees are $200.00 for dogs and puppies and $100.00 for cats and kittens. A fee may be reduced if an applicant is approved to adopt more than one animal at the same time. In an effort to place senior dogs and cats into loving homes, our placement fee for a senior large/medium dog over seven (7) years or a senior small dog over ten (10) years is only $120 and for a senior cat over seven (7) years only $80. Our cats are adopted to indoor homes only.
