Ruff Love Rescue (RLR) is a non-profit, 501(c)(3), no-kill dog rescue and foster care organization based out of Thomasville, NC dedicated to the care of abused, neglected and abandoned dogs. For over 20 years we have worked tirelessly to find homes for countless dogs, and to continue our work we need your support. Most of our volunteers, including RLR founder and president, Sue Rogers, have full time jobs. We save dogs in our spare time and our dogs live in private foster homes. Once you submit your online application, you will receive notification that it was received. Please allow at least 3-5 business days for the approval process to be completed. We will contact your vet, personal, and family references. It will help the process if you inform them of this and approve any exchange of information that may be needed (this applies more for vet references). Any dogs/pets already in the home must be current on required vaccinations, rabies, on heartworm preventative (dogs), and spayed/neutered. After your application has been approved, you will be contacted to set up a meeting with the potential dog(s) you wish to adopt, if this has not already been done. We do complete a home visit to ensure our dogs are being adopted into a safe environment, so this will be scheduled as well. Sometimes the meet and greet can be scheduled at the same time we do the home visit. The final step is a 10 day home trial to ensure that the adoption match really is the right fit for all parties involved.
