Inspired by their love of dogs, Steve and Holly Rogers solidified their passion in 2018 by forming Rover's Rescue & Retreat, a 501(c)(3) charity. Their mission; rescue, rehabilitate and rehome abandoned and unwanted dogs. Since it's beginning, Rover's Rescue & Retreat located in Waxhaw, NC has partnered with several animal clinics in North and South Carolina and with businesses throughout the greater Charlotte area to provide vet care, adoption events and education for surrounding communities. Steve is a retired United States Army veteran who served for 20 years. He graduated from Tarheel K9 Academy. Steve holds a Master Certification in dog obedience instruction. He is also certified in canine First-Aid. Steve has 8 years experience as kennel manager between his time with Wickersham's K-9 Ranch in Marshville, North Carolina and Dulles Executive Pet Center in Leesburg, Virginia. Holly has 14 years as a rescue volunteer and foster dog mom. She has deftly juggled a full-time career in the financial industry while raising 3 children and 6 fur babies. The children and the dogs participate in the socialization and training of the rescue dogs.
