Established in 2006, Ribseys Refugees is registered as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Founder Linda McCoy, a nationally-known expert in animal rescue, is dedicated to rescuing all breeds of dogs, but specializes in Pit Bulls and Black Labs, and their various mixes. She chose these dogs because they are so often overlooked in the shelters, not only because of their breed, but also because of their color - these dogs are often the first to be sent to a shelter and the last to leave.
