Redlands Animal Shelter - Redlands Pet Shelter

The Redlands Police Department’s Animal Control Unit provides animal control services to Redlands residents. Officers patrol the streets and respond to calls for service to assist with animal related problems. The Redlands Animal Shelter is open to the public five days a week. The public may view animals housed at the facility. Potential adopters may request to handle animals they are interested in adopting. The shelter also provides a variety of educational programs within the community. The mission of this unit is to provide the City with quality service while meeting the needs of the public and maintaining a healthful and happy environment for the many stray and homeless animals we acquire.

Adoption Process

You may choose to adopt from a large population of animals from our shelter. All animals adopted that are two (2) months of age or older are sent out to a veterinary hospital to be surgically altered prior to the new owner taking possession of the new pet. The new pet owner then goes directly to the animal hospital to collect their animal and no additional fees are owed unless they make prior arrangements for additional services. The City of Redlands pays any cost above the deposit paid by the adoptee to cover the total cost of the surgery. You may choose to pay by cash or check for your adoption.
