Our Mission: I. To prevent unwanted litters of kittens and puppies. This will decrease the number of animals euthanized in our country, and increase the quality of life for pets with homes. A. Work with area vet clinics to set up subsidized spay/neuter programs for low income families and for people who would not otherwise spay/neuter their pets. B. Work with area vet clinics to subsidize spay/neuter costs for people participating in trap/spay, neuter/release programs. This would include feral cat colonies and barn cat colonies. II. To encourage people to assist in rescue programs for unwanted/abandoned dogs and cats. A. Subsidize vet and food costs for people who provide foster homes for animals and need financial help. III. Educate the public on the importance of spay/neuter. A. Provide information on the U.S. euthanasia rate and the health benefits of spay/neuter via newspaper ads, flyers, booths at fairs, school programs, etc. 37,000 spays & neuters since 2003!
