The mission of the Puppy Mill Rescue Team, a 501c3 nonprofit organization, is to rescue discarded dogs and puppies from puppy mills, and place them with ethical rescues. These rescues then will care for their veterinary needs, house them in volunteer foster homes and eventually adopt them into loving families. The Puppy Mill Rescue Team also works to educate the public about puppy mills and supports efforts to eradicate the existence of the inhumane mass dog breeding facilities commonly known as puppy mills. The Puppy Mill Rescue Team promotes choosing pet adoption, over purchasing online or from a pet store, as the vast majority of those are sourced by puppy mills. The Puppy Mill Rescue Team Rescue is the part of our organization that consists of our skilled, volunteer foster families, and our adoptable dogs.
1. All potential homes must complete our adoption process which includes an application, meet and greet, home inspection and veterinary reference. Applicants must provide veterinary references if they have previously owned a pet and contact veterinary facilities to authorize release of their records to a PMRT representative upon request. 2. Applicants who rent their homes must verify that they are permitted to have a dog and provide a landlord contact number on the adoption application. Landlords will be contacted in every case, no exception. 3. The primary adopter must be at least 21 years old. 4. We are solely committed to the dogs accepted into the rescue. We want to find them loving, permanent homes and go to great lengths to place the right dog into the right family. We reserve the right to decline any adoption based on what we feel is in the best interest of the dog.
