Our Mission is to alleviate animal suffering caused by neglect, cruelty and ignorance and to promote the humane treatment of companion animals through prevention, intervention, placement, education and example.
Because we strive to ensure our rescued pets do not get returned, we provide a thorough and comprehensive adoption process so that their adoptive home is their forever home. Adopters are screened for suitability based upon the needs of the individual animal, and home requirements are based on the needs of that particular animal. Some animals may need a fenced yard, or to be an only pet and we communicate those needs with you during the interview process. After you application is approved, and you meet your new pet, our adoption counselors continue to follow up with you to ensure the animal is adjusting and you are happy with your pet. We offer conditional adoptions for all adoptions and refund adoption fees if the animal does not work out in your home. Interested adopters complete an adoption application and send it to us in email. We review your application, check your references and then arrange a home visit for you to meet the pet you are interested in. Adoption fees for dogs is $200 and cats are $50. All animals are spayed or neutered prior to adoption (we practice pediatric spay/neuters and there is NO exception to this policy). Cats are tested for feline leukemia/FIV/heartworm, given viral vaccinations, dewormed, and altered. Dogs are tested for heartworm and Lyme disease (treated if necessary), given viral vaccinations, dewormed, altered, and microchipped.
