PAHS is a not for profit 501(C)(3) organization that is committed to improving the quality of life for our companion animals. We operate an animal shelter where we house stray and homeless pets from Pratt County. They are then put up for adoption, if we can not find their owners, where many find their "furever" home. We also work within the community to educate about the humane treatment of animals and the importance of spaying and neutering your pets!
We are very proactive when we place our homeless pets. We make sure that the animal is a perfect companion for the home that is applying. We do not adopt on a first come, first serve basis but rather to the perfect match. That being said if multiple matches come in we will base our choice on which application we received first. We strongly suggest you bring any other animals you may have to interact with the new animal to make sure they get along and reduce returned adoptions. All applications must be approved before the adoption which may take a couple days. Certain breeds also require yard and fence checks before an adoption is allowed. No pet can be adopted until it is spayed or neutered.
