The primary mission of Pitt County Animal Services is to safeguard public health and safety by supporting the education of our citizens on responsible pet ownership; to protect our community’s animals from cruelty and neglect, and to house, care, place or provide humane resolution for animals in its care.
We offer a very simple adoption process. Dogs and puppies have an adoption fee of $125. Cats and kitten have an adoption fee of $85. Pitt County Animal Services retains the right to alter adoption fees for specific animals in certain circumstances. The adoption fee includes spay/neuter surgery for unaltered animals. All animals MUST be spayed/neutered before going home with the adopter! If the animal is not altered at the time of adoption, then we hold the pet until the pet can be spayed or neutered. All animals are vaccinated appropriate to their age before going home.
