Pets In Peril is a volunteer based organization that provides assistance to pets and pet owners that live within the City of Flint. Our program is 100% donation based. Our goal is to educate owners on pet care, the importance of spay/neutering their pets, to show the importance of the pets in their lives, and sometimes even referral to human services for people needs. PIP volunteers provide food, straw, dog houses, and occasional spay and neuter services to “owned” animals within the city of Flint. This area has a very high rate of at-risk pets. Sometimes requests come from families wanting to keep their pets while in financial distress; pet food and supplies are given to these families to help them get through the hard financial times so they can keep their pets. Other times, tips from the community are received for investigation. PIP volunteers rely on donations from the public to help these animals be as comfortable as possible in their given situations.
