Pet Project - Pueblo West Pet Shelter

Pet Project

Pet Project is a non profit 501©3, Limited intake, animal adoption organization. We take animals exclusively from shelters in Southern Colorado and work to find them good homes. Pet Project also relies on foster homes for our mission. We strive to be an organization of honesty and integrity. We work to provide quality care for the animals and we are honest with perspective pet owners about animal history and temperament. Our mission is to help shelters in their life saving mission. Often we collaborate with them in taking animals that need foster care to recuperate from injury or illness. During kitten season we take untamed kittens that need socialization, underage kittens that need a longer time to reach 8 weeks and two pounds for adoption, and most of all we take mom cats with newborn kittens. We utilize foster homes for all these situations. Pet Project fundamentally believes that shelters and rescues need to collaborate to achieve all our missions of saving lives. Pet Project is able to offer services that shelters desperately need and we are happy to provide as a team. Pet Project believes there is not a TRUE “no kill” shelter and are 100% AGAINST the no kill Colorado ballot initiative.
