Incorporated in 1983 in the state of California as a 501 (C) (3) a Non-Profit organization, Pet Adoption Fund (PAF) is proud to be an all breed, No-Kill, Cat & Dog rescue and adoption organization, located in the city of Canoga Park, Los Angeles county, CA. PAF is staffed primarily by volunteers, and exist solely on donations. Since inception, PAF has helped shelter, rehabilitate, and find happy homes for the thousands of dogs and cats rescued from high kill shelters, and from owners who could no longer care for their companion animals. All of the dogs and cats in our care are spayed or neutered, microchipped and vaccinated before being placed in adoptive homes.
Come visit in person with the entire family, including your current dog (altered dogs only) if one, so we may test the dogs together for compatibility. We also need to make sure that our dog is comfortable with the other members of you family, and is a good fit for your lifestyle. Please allow at least one hour to spend at our facility. You will be asked to complete an adoption application before viewing our dogs, no exceptions. Weekends are busy for us, so we appreciate your patience. You must be over the age of 21 to complete our adoption application & contract. A valid California ID is required for all adoptions. All of our pets are spayed or neutered, vaccinated (rabies if specified), bathed, and micro-chipped. All pets are provided with a PAF tag and collar. Please bring your own carrier for cats/kittens/puppies. We are placing what we believe to be a healthy pet. If the situation proves to be otherwise, we will assist with the health care, provided through our own veterinarian, for the first 30 days after adoption, and ONLY for a condition that the animal had already contracted before he/she left our facility. Most of our dogs and cats come from rescue situations. We do our very best (with the help of our veterinarians) to determine age, breed, medical issues, and assess behavior. We do not intentionally withhold information, as it serves no purpose but cause heartache and emotional pain to all involved when the animal is returned. If the adoption does not work out for any reason, we ask that the animal be returned ONLY to Pet Adoption Fund, or any time in the future. We also reserve the right to retrieve the animal at any time for breach of adoption contract. Our adoption fees vary based on age, breed, size. We support our non-profit, no-kill facility from the funds generated by the adoption donations, and every donation is 100% tax deductible. Our adoptions are always subject to approval and a home-check for dogs; and we do reserve the right to refuse service to anyone who does not meet our adoption policy standards. We show our dogs and cats on first come first serve basis. Phone or email inquiry about an animal does not guarantee availability. The decision to add a new member to your family is a great one and comes with even greater responsibility. It is a lifelong commitment that cannot be taken lightly. We hope you have taken the time to educate yourself about responsible pet ownership; and please do visit us when you are ready to welcome a new four legged friend into your life. Just stop by our kennel during our business hours, and we'll be happy to find you your best match. We look forward to seeing you soon.
