We are YOUR Pendleton community animal shelter! Pioneer Humane Society/Pendleton Animal Welfare Shelter is a local, private, non-profit 501(c)3 animal shelter located in Pendleton, Oregon. Founded in 1975 by a group of compassionate citizens, we are dedicated to helping homeless, lost, and at-risk animals and pet owners in our town and surrounding areas.
Our goal is to find a permanent, loving home for all the animals we take in. All of the animals at PAWS will come to their new homes spayed or neutered, current on vaccinations, and treated for fleas and worms. Currently, dogs will also be micro-chipped. All of our adoptable pets are listed online. Most are located in the shelter, but a few are in foster homes. If you want to meet one, stop by during open hours, or call or email and make an appointment to visit outside of open hours. You can bring your own dog for a meet and greet (just let us know ahead of time, please).
