PAWS of Bremerton is a 501C3 charity that deals with companion animal health and welfare here in Kitsap County, Washington. We operate a small cat adoption center through our office, as well as help low income residents of the county find reduced cost veterinary services to help alleviate needless pain and suffering for their pets. We have a deep and unalterable conviction that every living being has an inalienable right to life and the dignity and respect which that life implies.
Our adoption process is very simple. We do adoption tours and counseling on all days we are open. We will ask some questions about your home, family and previous pet experiences and introduce you to cats that we think may suit your personal situation. We do reserve the right to refuse an adoption based on this interview and your described home environment at all times. We do not perform routine home checks but reserve to right to request one if we have concerns. Our current adoption fee is $120.00 for kittens up to 1 year. and cats over 1 year of age are $100.00. This includes being spayed or neutered, given basic vaccines including rabies, dewormed and tested to be Feline Aids and/or Leukemia treated for any other known medical conditions. Our cats are indoor only and all are litter box trained. We do not declaw our cats for any reason unless mandated by a licensed veterinarian for a medical reason. During your tour and interview we will point out those cats that have known health/behavior issues. We believe that full disclosure of such things is always in the best interest of the cat and potential owner. However, it does occasionally occur that a hidden issue may surface after adoption. If there are problems, please contact us as we may be able to help with treatment and the information will help us counteract the problem for the other cats if necessary.
