Established in 1997 in honor of a special donkey named Pasado, we are a non-profit on a mission to end animal cruelty. In addition to investigating animal cruelty crimes and providing sanctuary and rehabilitation to animals who have suffered from abuse and neglect, we also advocate for better laws to protect animals and work to educate the public about how they can help end animal suffering. Through our uniquely comprehensive programs, we are able to help thousands of animals every year and spread a message of compassion to countless people.
STEP ONE: We ask that all adopters complete the online adoption questionnaire for dogs, cats or farm animals. STEP TWO: After we receive your questionnaire, we will ask for home check photos and schedule a brief phone “interview” to help us make the perfect match. STEP THREE: If a good match is identified, we will schedule a meet/greet at the sanctuary. STEP FOUR: When possible, the animal(s) will receive exit exams with our clinic team prior to the in-person meet/greet, so a same day adoption can take place. If this is not possible, a pick-up will be scheduled for a later date.
