Once upon a tail is formerly Dante’s Hope East. We are a foster based rescue located in St Tammany Parish in Louisiana. We rescue dogs from every imaginable situation. Some are strays fending for themselves, some injured with no one else to help them, some owner surrenders when they can no longer care for them, some from euthanasia lists before they are put down in kill shelters, and others who have been neglected and abused. We continue to ask you ,our community to join us to help save all of these dogs so we can find forever homes where they are loved and treated like a member of the family. We continue to advocate for animals and stay active in fighting for animal welfare in our parish until one day we reach the goal of making St Tammany parish the first no kill parish in our state. We will remain unafraid and unwavering in doing what it takes, meeting with parish officials, and educating the community to accomplish this. Our hearts break in a million pieces every time we take in the abused, neglected, injured, and thrown away dog and every time one by one they find their forever homes our hearts are made whole once again. It is only with community support, donations, and the amazing foster network that we can continue to be the voice and save so many.
Once Upon a Tail is a non profit rescue organization for homeless dogs, sick, and injured dogs. It is our goal to get these dogs healthy and place them in permanent, loving homes where every member of the household is committed to their lifelong care.
