Off the Chain MKE is a 501c3 nonprofit organization founded in 2014 in Milwaukee to support local shelters and animal control through foster care, adoption, and outreach efforts. We are a volunteer-run and foster-based rescue, committed to working with local rescue organizations and shelters to save as many dogs as possible, as well as continuing community outreach education efforts on successful dog ownership practices, vaccinations and the importance of spay and neutering.
Fill out the adoption app on our website. When your application is approved you will be contacted to set up a meet and greet between all members of your household and the dog, along with a home inspection. Approval process includes landlord and vet checks, if you rent or have current pets residing in your home, along with a background check. Applications are processed in the order in which they are received. Our adoption decisions are made on best fit, not first come first serve.
