The Noah Center - Stanwood Pet Shelter

The Noah Center

Northwest Organization for Animal Help (The NOAH Center) is dedicated to stopping the euthanasia of healthy, adoptable and treatable homeless dogs and cats. We are committed to high quality spay and neuter programs available for low income residents, family friendly pet adoptions, humane education and volunteer programs through our state-of-the-art facilities and Spay/Neuter Center. While there are still many animals in need of our help, The NOAH Center has significantly made an impact since opening our doors in 2003: Transfer Program: Through our 65 partner shelters across Washington state and beyond, more than 40,000 dogs and cats were given the second chance they deserve by being transferred to our facility for adoption. Adoption Program: Our family-friendly adoption program and one-on-one matchmaking process allowed us to find more than 40,000 cats and dogs their forever homes. Spay/Neuter Program: We are tackling pet overpopulation at the source through our high-volume, high-quality spay-neuter program where we have performed more than 115,000 surgeries for low-income members of the community. Foster Program: Our devoted and hardworking foster families have provided a loving and safe environment for more than 10,500 underage puppies, kittens and special needs animals since instituting our foster program in 2010.

Adoption Process

Dogs - 1. We encourage all family members to be involved in the adoption process. Please bring all human members of the household to choose your new fur baby. 2. Please bring all the dogs currently living in your home to be properly introduced. You will need to leave your dog(s) in your vehicle until the introduction. If it is hot outside, you may need to bring a helper to sit outside in the shade with your dog. 3. If you lease or rent your home, please review your terms to make sure you are allowed to have a pet reside with you, if there are any size or breed limitations, and if you need to pay an additional damage deposit. Please have your landlord's permission to adopt a pet. 4. We accept most forms of payment for adoption fees, including VISA, Master Card, Discover, and cash. At this time, we do not accept checks. Cats - 1. We encourage all family members to be involved in the adoption process. Please bring all human members of the household to choose your new fur baby. 2. Plan to have a "Sanctuary Room" ready for your new cat to settle into before being let out into the rest of the home. A mostly unused bathroom or spare bedroom works well for this. This process can dramatically reduce post-adoption problems and is strongly recommended. 3. If you lease or rent your home, please review your terms to make sure you are allowed to have a pet reside with you and if you need to pay an additional damage deposit. Please have your landlord's permission to adopt a pet. 4. We accept most forms of payment for adoption fees, including VISA, Master Card, Discover, and cash. At this time, we do not accept payment by check.
