New Mexico House Rabbit Society is an all-volunteer, nonprofit organization whose mission is to help rabbits who need homes in New Mexico, with a special focus on the Albuquerque and Santa Fe area. We are an official chapter of House Rabbit Society.

Adoption Process

STEP 1: Review our adoption policies NMHRS Adoption Policies Feb 2014 . Our adoption policies help us screen potential adopters, to make certain that the rabbits will be well cared for the rest of their lives. STEP 2: Complete the adoption application and email it to Our adoption application helps us match you to the right rabbit for your needs and lifestyle. STEP 3: A NM House Rabbit Society volunteer will contact you after approving your application to arrange a time to introduce you to one or more of our rabbits. If all goes well at that introduction, we will ask you to fill out our adoption contract. STEP 4: Assemble supplies for your new rabbit companion. STEP 5: Sign the adoption contract and pay the $75 fee. The $75 adoption fee pays for your spayed or neutered rabbit, a year’s membership to House Rabbit Society, and a free wellness visit with a local rabbit veterinarian.
