Montgomery County Animal Control is located in rural part of central North Carolina. Until late November 2012, this shelter was known to have the highest euthanasia rate in the entire state. With volunteer and public help, the adoption rate has been increasing, and donations of food and supplies have allowed the animals to be kept for longer periods of time to allow for adoption and rescue. The shelter still desperately needs the help of the public in order to keep from having to put any of the animals to sleep.
