Midwest Animal Resq - Raytown Pet Shelter

Midwest Animal Resq

Midwest Animal ResQ (MARQ) was founded in 2009 as a small foster-based rescue group focused on saving dogs from inhumane conditions at local large scale breeding facilities. With the help of dedicated supporters and volunteers, MARQ has grown into a multifaceted group in a short period of time. While we are still very passionate about retired breeding dogs, our scope has increased along with our capacity to serve the animals of the greater Kansas City area. Our adoption center in Raytown, MO opened in 2015, and our sanctuary property on 6 acres provides safe housing for animals needing special medical or behavioral help prior to going to their forever homes. MARQ's fantastic network of fosters open their hearts and homes to animals in need until a forever home can be found.

Adoption Process

When you visit our Adoption Center in Raytown, our amazing Matchmakers will go to work helping match you to with your perfect pet! If you would like to meet a pet currently located in a foster home, we would just need a completed an adoption application to set up a time and place to meet. Because we receive requests daily to take in animals in need, we are not able to place holds on animals in our care. Midwest Animal ResQ provides extensive medical treatment to all animals in our care. Some come to us injured or sick and require an extraordinary amount of care. Variable adoption pricing allows us to continue to do more for those animals that need us the very most! Currently our annual adoption fees do not even cover our annual medical costs, not to mention the other costs associated with animal care, thus our fees are not negotiable. Thank you for understanding! To adopt any animal, a government issued ID is required. For dogs we do require a well fitting collar or harness and a leash, you are welcome to bring those with you, or we have them for sale at the shelter for $5-$15. For cats we require a secure carrier, if you don’t have one, we sell cardboard carriers for $10 at the shelter. You will also receive a copy of all current health records. We look forward to seeing you, and are hopeful you will go home with your perfect match!
