Hi I’m Mell and this is us……….Our ‘rescue’ adventure began just about 4 years ago when my brother found 2 lost dogs that nobody claimed and basically nobody wanted. They found themselves in our local kill-shelter facing the sad walk into the euthanasia room. I couldn’t let that happen so I fought and begged and pleaded for help but it all fell on deaf ears so I jumped into action and have never looked back. I was able to find them great homes (after they were fixed of course) but the experience made me see the huge need to help the stray, homeless, and unwanted doggies of our community. Over the past 4 years I have rescued, chased, trapped, and fixed hundreds of doggies and get this I even broke both of my ankles in pursuit of a stray doggy! It’s fair to say I’m very passionate about this. In January 2018 I was given the non-profit 501c3, EIN 82-2006642, “Buy, Sell, Rescue Inc.” by a good friend who is a real estate brooker and wanted to incorporate his buying and selling of real estate with his passion for rescuing dogs. We ‘do business as’ Mell’s Mutts. Mell’s Mutts focuses on the importance of the need to spay and neuter, in order to reduce the over-population problem. We offer help to those in our community that need their dog’s fixed. Mell’s Mutts also helps vaccinate puppies and dogs at low or no cost in order to help prevent disease from the failure to properly vaccinate. Mell’s Mutts will also gets out there and helps with search and rescue efforts……. As stated earlier even at the risk of falling and breaking our own self. Mell’s Mutts rescues dogs from our local kill-shelters that are scheduled to be euthanized. We are a foster based organization which means we do not run out of a facility so depend on our volunteers to help foster the dogs that we take under our wings. We also run solely on donations. WE CAN ONLY HELP WHEN WE GET HELP. The more volunteers we have the more dogs we are able to save. The more donations we receive the more dogs we are able to vaccinate and spay / neuter.
