Maui Pitbull Rescue (MPR) is the only no-kill pitbull rescue shelter in the state of Hawaii. Located on the island of Maui, MPR works with local animal shelters to save dogs and adopt them out through the MPR program. It is MPR’s mission to rescue, rehabilitate and find forever homes for unwanted, abused, and neglected pitbulls. Some of MPR’s rescues have come from breeders who abandon lower performing dogs, deformed puppies, bait dogs that have been dumped by dog fighters, injured and lost hunting dogs. MPR’s services offer these dogs the window of life, allowing the time necessary to find forever homes for these difficult or unfortunate dogs. MPR aids local police and fire departments as a first responder in situations involving pitbulls. If there is a car accident, home rescue, or other emergency situations involving pitbulls, MPR is called. MPR also works closely with local breeders, hunting clubs, veterinarians, and other animal rescue groups.
All adoptions contingent upon: Application and Interview required. Adoption fees may apply. MPR has right of refusal of any applicant. MPR remains a life-long resource for adoption families. We are committed to making successful matches for our dogs and their new family. If you would like to visit our rescue, please contact us and make an appointment first.
