Mastino Rescue, Inc. is a group of dedicated rescuers and breed-enthusiasts who are committed to helping Neapolitan Mastiffs in need, all across the USA, and to educating the public about the realities of owning this unique and magnificent breed. We are a foster-based, 100% volunteer rescue. In other words, our Neapolitan Mastiffs live in loving foster homes, rather than a brick and mortar shelter environment, and all of our work is done solely on a volunteer basis (none of us gets paid for any of the hard work we do). When we bring a Neapolitan Mastiff into our program, we initially place the dog into an experienced foster home for evaluation. As they remain in foster care, we work on training and any possible behavior issues, and make sure that all medical needs are addressed. Once all of that is done, and we determine they are ready, we ultimately adopt our dogs into carefully matched, loving forever homes.
