Adoption Process

Visit the Available Pets section of our website to view all of the animals that are currently available for adoption or visit the shelter in person. If you don’t see an animal that is a good fit for your household at this time, keep checking the website regularly. We update it daily as new animals become ready for adoption. If you do see an animal that would be a good fit for your household (please note any restrictions i.e. kids, other pets, etc.) reach out by email or phone or speak with an Adoption Counselor in person about that animal. If the animal seems like a good match for your household, staff will give you an adoption application to complete and return to us. One of our Adoption Counselors will review your application once we receive the completed paperwork. Once your application has been approved, our staff will contact you to set up a meet & greet if your application is the first in line for that pet, or let you know the status of your application if you are a back-up applicant. We accept backup applications for animals in case the first application falls through. Meet & greets are scheduled between 12:15 pm- 3:00 pm seven days a week. If the initial meet & greet goes well, you can adopt the animal and take them home that day! Make sure to bring a carrier with you to your meet & greet appointment, or purchase a cardboard carrier here for $5.
