Love and Purrs Sanctuary is a 501 (c) 3 nonprofit organization dedicated to caring for at risk cats and kittens. Founder and President Kimberley Dolan is the operator and visionary of Love and Purrs Sanctuary. Over 95% of our cats and kittens come from the streets! They are the forgotten, abused and neglected. We believe human contact and companionship is needed to foster security and trust with these forgotten second chance kitties. We truly take the time to understand a cats needs and personality. Our furry feline friends have all the love and care they desire here. All of our cats and kittens live in a fully free roaming environment with us. With catios and cat towers galore, every cat and kitten can find a perfect spot to lounge. We are not a foster based “rescue” and the majority of the cats and kittens live with us until they find their special person that wants to adopt them. We are a “sanctuary” because unlike a “rescue”, cats and kittens can stay with us for as long as they need to before they are adopted. For some that has been years and that is okay with us. Love and Purrs Sanctuary was founded in the Nashville, Tennessee area. Because of the amazing support of those who love cats, we rapidly outgrew our facility and needed to expand. We found a great facility and a large need for a Love and Purrs in Clyde, North Carolina. We are happily settling in and excited to add Love and Purrs Sanctuary to Haywood County's efforts to save cats, one purr at a time!
