Louisiana Lifeline for K-9's is a non-profit, no kill, foster based rescue organization dedicated to the care, rehabilitation, and adoption of shelter/homeless dogs, located in DeRidder, LA. We are a strictly volunteer organization. The purpose of Louisiana Lifelines 4 K-9’s is to save the lives of dogs in danger of being euthanized in animal shelters. Despite the commitment of animal control and shelter workers to the animals in their care, over 5 million animals are being killed in shelters in the USA each year. We encourage Southwest Louisiana residents to adopt a "pound dog" rather than buy. We were founded on the principals that no animal should ever die…sad and alone in a kill shelter.
Most of our dogs are rescued from Beauregard Parish Holding facility, DeRidder Animal Control, Vernon Parish Animal Shelter or Ft. Polk Stray Facility, although some may have been found on the roads or displaced due to owner surrender. All Louisiana Lifeline for K-9's adult dogs offered for adoption have been vaccinated, spayed/neutered, started on heart worm prevention and have received treatment for any medical condition they may have had. All our dogs are also microchipped. Our adoption fee for adult dogs is $125.00. Puppies for adoption have received 3 sets of vaccination, were spayed/neutered, started on heartworm prevention and have received treatment for any medical condition they may have had. Our adoption fee for puppies under 6 month of age $140.00. All of our dogs and pups for adoption require an approved adoption application and contract prior to placement in it's new home!
