Lmn Feline Rescue - Huffman Pet Shelter

Lmn Feline Rescue

LMN Feline Rescue is a 501(c)(3) volunteer-only, foster-based, no-kill animal rescue charity. Rescuing animals in our community and high standards of care for those in our adoption program are our top priorities. Our goal is to find permanent loving homes for animals we have rescued and rehabilitated, and we do our very best to meet the requirements of adoptive parents through our screening methods. We do not contract with any local governing bodies but do pull from county and city kill facilities. On average, we adopt over 300 pets a year. We have 15 active volunteers, and all of our animals are in foster homes. We have weekly adoption events at local Petco stores, and we also actively adopt through Petco on-site condos, our Facebook and Instagram sites, and Petfinder. We serve as a critical resource in our community by providing a means for housing and caring for some of the many abandoned or injured animals found by kind hearted people in our area. Many who find these animals are not able to care for them. Our primary purpose is rescuing, rehabilitating, and finding permanent and loving homes for abandoned, abused, and neglected animals through our volunteer home-based foster program. Animals in our care receive initial health exams, (for Cats and kittens) FIV/Felv tests, panleukopenia and rabies vaccinations, (Dogs and Puppies) Heartworm Test, DHPP and Bordetella, and Rabies vaccinations. All of our animals also receive spay/neuter services as well as other lifesaving veterinary or supportive care. LMN also offers microchips with lifetime registration to adopters as a key measure to help pets find their way home in the event the unexpected happens and a pet gets lost. Our secondary purpose is aiding in reducing the population of unwanted feral and free roaming stray felines in the community. We do this with trap, neuter and release (“TNR”) services. Our TNR program decreases the numbers of abandoned cats and kittens by preventing the birth of kittens in the community and taking kittens born to feral cats into the adoption program early, before they too become feral.
