L.E.A.D. Rescue, NFP is an Illinois based 501(c)(3) charitable organization. We are a no-kill dog rescue with the goal of lowering the euthanasia rate for Chicagoland area open-access shelters, providing humane education and finding loving homes for dogs in need. We rely solely on generous donations, fosters and volunteers to get our dogs to safety and into fur-ever homes.
See a dog that you think would make a great addition to your family? Here are the steps: 1. All potential adopters must first complete an application to begin the adoption process. You can also print the application and email the completed application back to us at info@leadrescue.org. A LEAD representative will review the application. We are a volunteer based rescue with amazing people that have full time jobs, but we will get back to you asap! A L.E.A.D. adoption counselor will call you to discuss your application and clarify any questions. We will also contact your personal and veterinary references, and, if applicable contact your landlord. 2. The next step will be a home check to assure a safe and appropriate living situation for the dog you are interested in. 3. The final step for a meet and greet with your family. All members of your family and current pets will have to be present to meet with your potential new family member. This can either be at a private meet-up at a convenient, safe location for everyone or at one of our adoption events. If all goes well between everyone, you will be able to finalize the adoption and take your new pet home the same day!
