Our mission is to improve the quality of life for feral cats born and living in colonies and to reduce the number of feral cats by promoting Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) as the only humane and effective means of solving the feral cat overpopulation crisis. In 2008, our primary focus shifted to providing information, guidance and support to those working with a feral cat situation. Toward this end, Kindness for Kitties will: Educate, encourage and provide support to individuals and groups to implement TNR and feral colony management; Work with grassroots advocates, as well as local and state officials, to initiate programs that encourage and/or implement non-lethal control policies for managing feral cats as well as programs which educate the general public regarding these policies; Perform Trap-Neuter-Return projects (including vaccinations) and colony management where caregivers provide ongoing care, shelter, food, supervision and medical treatment; Where possible, socialize kittens born into feral colonies and screen potential adopters in order to place these kittens as well as domesticated strays into permanent, loving homes; Explore opportunities to make connections between feral cat policies and broader respect for life and habitat issues.
