Our adoption includes the following steps: Completion of an application either on line or at the shelter. Please be sure your application is completely filled out. If information is missing we are unable to process the application. We do conduct a background check and follow up with your references. If you have had pets or currently own pets please list their names and additional information requested including your veterinarians information. If your current pets are not spayed or neutered, chipped, up to date on shots or your dog is not on a heart worm prevention medication please do not apply! We feel strongly that all companion animals should be spayed and neutered and chipped and that their vaccinations must be current for the health of the pet. If you are not able to adopt the pet you would like please keep looking. We do our very best to ensure we find the right home for the adoptable pet and will work with you to find the right pet for you! If you are ready to adopt please complete the application below and thank you for considering the Kankakee County Humane Foundation. Please note: you must be 21 or older to adopt from the Kankakee County Humane Foundation.
