Just One Generation is the Braxton County affiliate of the Grafton, WV based parent organization, PURR WV. It was established in response to the overpopulation of cats within the community, many of which were "wild", also known as feral. Feral cats require live trapping in order for vetting to occur. The cats are sterilized, provided rabies and other age-appropriate vaccinations, and re-released into an area where someone is available to help feed and monitor the colony. Occasionally, due to reasons of safety or numbers, feral cats may need to be relocated to another area. This is done only with the knowledge and consent of the landowner, as well as with due diligence to ensure the best welfare of the animals.
