Itty Bitty Kitten Rescue is a Lexington Kentucky based 501(c)3 non-profit kitten rescue run by a group of dedicated volunteers. Itty Bitty Kitten Rescue is on a mission to end the killing of neonatal kittens, and to give every kitten a chance for a healthy and happy life. IBKR's lifesaving work is partially funded through private donations and partnerships with local organizations. With your continued support, we can make a significant impact for at-risk kittens and raise awareness for spay/neuter programs in our community.
1) Join our Interest List. Get weekly emails containing available cats/kittens. Emails are sent Wednesdays at noon. 2) Complete an Adoption Application to be pre-approved. Approved homes get first choice of available kittens; kittens cannot be reserved until they are a minimum of 6 weeks old and have been advertised in our newsletter. 3) Volunteers will review applications and call references. You will receive an email to inform you of your approval status (please allow up to a week for approvals). Once you are approved you may select from our available and coming soon cats and kittens. We have over 100 kittens of various ages in our foster care program, but not all are ready to be adopted. If you don’t see a kitten you would like to meet, please check back with us frequently for updated availability. If you do see a kitten you like, and have already been approved to adopt, please send us an email to let us know who the lucky kitty is (info@ittybittykittenrescue.org). 4) Talk with the Foster Parent. The Foster Parent will determine whether your household is a good fit for the selected cat/kitten based on his/her personality and temperament. If you are approved by the foster, then that cat/kitten will be reserved for you. 5) Schedule your pick-up date. You will be notified of your pet’s spay/neuter appointment date. Your new family member will be available for pick-up within a few days of their surgery. 6) The Adoption fee is $122 per kitten, $96 for teenager/adult and $159 for Premium (includes 6% Kentucky Sales Tax). Included in the fee: First and Second (in a series of 3) FVRCP vaccine; Feline Leukemia/FIV testing; Deworming; Flea Treatment; Spay/Neuter surgery. Kittens are usually available to go to their new homes the day after their spay/neuter surgery. Adopters are responsible for the final kitten vaccines (#3 FVRCP and Rabies) and for all future vet care. Proof of final vaccinations will be required.
