Adoption Process

You can view our adoptable dogs and cats online. You may inquire via email about our adoptable pets, but adoptions and reservations can only be made in person once you have met the pet and spent some time with it. Adoptions will stop being accepted 30 minutes prior to the shelter closing to ensure a quality adoption experience. The adoption process takes 1-2 hours depending on the animal you are looking to adopt. Be prepared to spend some time with the animals before you select your next forever pet. Every adoption requires an adoption application. These can be filled out in person, or at home. These applications are submitted after you have met the pet you intend to adopt. We also partner with area pet retailers that house adoptable cats at their stores. Check out our adoptable cat habitats at PETCO, Pet Supplies Plus, and soon at Joey’s Pet Outfitters and Preuss Pets. The adoption application is the same at these off-site locations, but adoption fees are discounted. Sometimes you may see adoptable animals that haven’t been spayed/neutered yet. All animals will be spayed/neutered before the adoption is completed. In the meantime, we can take up to three “reservations” on adoptable pets so adoptions can be completed after their surgery. We also offer "Foster to Adopt" options for select animals waiting on medical care or surgery.

My kitties have special care for whatever needs they may have and get lots of loving and care.
