The Humane Society of Truckee-Tahoe (HSTT) is excited to announce the restoration of animal welfare programs and services to the community of South Lake Tahoe. Services were previously provided by the South Lake Tahoe Humane Society (LTHS) but have not been available for quite some time. LTHS is transitioning ownership and operations to HSTT, who has the leadership team and resources in place to serve the community starting January 2019. HSTT and LTHS are strongly aligned in this initiative and leaders from both organizations will be seated on HSTT's overarching board of directors. This means there will be a significant increase in the quality and amount of animal welfare services offered in South Lake Tahoe and beyond. Moving forward, HSTT will provide one care network for all Lake Tahoe animals – spanning as far north as Sierra County and as far south as areas in Douglas and El Dorado Counties. Low cost spay and neuter vouchers are now available to the South Lake Tahoe community and additional services will be available in the near future.
