The Humane Society of Edmonson County is a 501(c)3 non-profit working to find the funding and a suitable place for an animal shelter in Edmonson County. We are doing this by reaching out to the community and through grant programs that are available nationally. We have a volunteers who have opened up their homes to foster felines. Most of the time we bring in motherless kittens that have been separated. We care for them until they are at an age where they can be adopted or transferred to another organization. We have partnered with All Cats and Dogs Veterinary Hospital, the Barren River Animal Welfare Association and The Fix Foundation to bring low cost spay/neuter services to the county along with other programs such as microchip and rabies clinics for owned pets in our area.
