Humane Animal Rescue Project - Hempstead Pet Shelter

Humane Animal Rescue Project

Started in 2013, in Hempstead Texas, as a reaction to poor animal care and overcrowding at the local shelters, HARP has rescued over 150 dogs as well as many strays. Many of the dogs come to us in poor health, poorly mannered, anti-social , and fearful. Our committment is a 100% dedication to giving the dogs a home they have missed out on. We provide quality medical care with volunteer vets and experienced staff. We have strong adoption progarms by partnering up with websites like petfinder.com, and local business like Patti's Pet Depot and PetSmart. HARP is also a Sanctuary for dogs who would otherwise be euthanized or left to live a sad existence. Once here every dog has a home for life, wether adopted or not. We provide quality indoor/outdoor kenneling , play yards, lots of playtime, basic obedience training and security. Of course, our main goal is to adopt our wonderful babies to a loving forever home. Our criteria can be strict and our volunteers can be picky, but each one of the pups deserves the best.
