Twenty years ago we began a long term commitment to privatize the county animal shelter. The goals we had were to increase adoptions and provide a better quality of life for shelter animals, and most of all help solve the animal overpopulation problems. We are happy to have success in all three areas.
All animals for adoption are located at The Key Largo Animal Shelter 105951 Overseas Highway Key Largo, Florida 33037. Our telephone number is 305-451-0088. The cost to adopt a cat or a dog is a $10.00 Monroe County Government adoption fee. All adopted animals are spayed or neutered before they go to their new homes.
