Help Orphan Puppies - Valatie Pet Shelter

Help Orphan Puppies

Help Orphan Puppies, Inc. is a registered not-for-profit (501(c)3) all volunteer organization dedicated to the rescue of dogs in need of loving homes. We specialize in orphaned puppies, pregnant dogs, moms with nursing babies, puppies and puppies with special needs. We also take in adult dogs but we have limited foster homes for adult dogs. We tend to reserve these limited foster homes for local surrender cases, especially for dogs that have been victims of abuse, as these dogs can take weeks, months or even years to rehabilitate. These dogs require significant resources, including financial resources. Sometimes people state to us that these financial resources could be utilized to save more dogs. Although this may be the case, we feel that every dog deserves a chance. We believe the quality of our work and efforts in saving dogs is more important than the quantity of dogs we save. Help Orphan Puppies also provides community education programs to schools, groups, and colleges, regarding animal cruelty prevention and the correct and humane treatment of companion animals. We focus on the importance of compassion, kindness and respect towards all living creatures. All of our dogs are fostered in the home of a volunteer in order to ensure their overall health and well being. During the foster process, we evaluate each dog’s temperament and personality in order to select the best possible forever home. We believe that all dogs should be given an equal chance and most behavior problems can be attributed to people, not the dog or the breed. We are always in need of foster homes and if you have ever considered fostering and would like more information, please do not hesitate to contact us.
