Heart of the Foothills Animal Rescue is a local non-profit organization working to build a no-kill community in Rutherfordton, NC. Every one of our volunteers, staff, sponsors, community sponsors and donors are committed to helping to save the lives of animals in Rutherford County. We work with various organizations, including the local animal shelter and other rescue groups to provide a safe place for the animals to stay until they can find them forever homes. Deep-rooted heartache can sprout a beauty that touches the lives of all God’s creatures in the most amazing way. We want to build a foundation here in our community. We want to touch the lives of all who enter our establishment and we hope we have. The men and women who make up our organization have all suffered a great loss. We all know how it feels to lose something or someone so valuable to our lives that we had to remind ourselves to breathe. Now we have come together as a reminder of how beautiful life can be. We became a heartbeat in the rescue community, steady and strong. We have saved countless lives and have helped countless people and we hope to continue moving in this direction until all companion animals are safe. Join our team, join the no-kill movement.
If you are interested in an animal that you see online, you can visit our adoption center and meet the animals we have on-site. If you are interested in an animal that is foster care, you will need to have your application processed and approved before we can set a meet and greet. YOU CAN NOT BRING YOUR ANIMALS TO THE ADOPTION CENTER WITHOUT AN APPROVED APPLICATION OR PERMISSION FROM THE DIRECTOR OR HER STAFF. When we do approve your application, we want to make sure that the animal is fit for your family and your family’s needs. When we adopt, we want you to have a new best friend and a new family member, we want it to be for life. We process applications daily. Please allow 1-2 business days to hear back. We will either call or email the applicants to let them know the outcome or if we have further questions to help assist us in completing the process. Once the application is processed and approved, we will set up a meet and greet with and the animal you are adopting. We do offer a trial adoption for those who aren’t sure how the animal will do in their home and want to take time with the animal to see how he/she adjust. We also offer a foster to adopt for animals who are still undergoing vetting and are not ready to be finalized. The trial adoptions are granted for one week, we do extend them for those who feel they need a little more time. WE DON’T ACCEPT ANY PAYMENTS UNTIL THE ADOPTION IS FINALIZED.
