Adoption Process

Anyone wishing to adopt a pet from Halfway There Rescue will need to complete an adoption application. We do not schedule meet and greets prior to receiving an application. Please allow 3-4 days for us to review the adoption application and schedule a home visit. Once approved, a meet and greet will be scheduled to give you and your family an opportunity to meet the animal. All animals adopted through Halfway There Rescue will be spayed/neutered (6 months and older), receive a microchip (6 months and older), receive their rabies vaccination (dogs 4 months and older), receive all age appropriate DHLPP vaccinations, be tested for heartworm (dogs 8 months and older), and be dewormed. Any animal not already altered, will need to be spayed/neutered and microchipped by 6 months of age and these services are included with your adoption fee. Vaccines that are not able to be completed at the time of adoption (due to the animal's age) are not covered with the adoption fee. Prior to the adoption of any animal through Halfway There Rescue, an adoption contract must be signed and given to a Halfway There representative. In addition, the adoption fee of $200 (dogs) or $100 (cats) must be received prior to the adopter picking up the animal.
