Gram Rescue Ranch is a non-profit animal rescue organization in Winston-Salem, NC. We believe that all animals have the right to live in a loving home, and we strive to find homes for those animals that have been abused, abandoned, or otherwise needing a new home. For nearly fifteen years, we have done our part by pulling one to six dogs at a time from various county animal control facilities just prior to their scheduled euthanasia dates and took in many owner surrenders. In 2016, we also began campaigning locally, in Forsyth County for more protective ordinances and better practices in our county. The small, but fierce advocacy group we joined was able to accomplish: A "No Tethering Allowed" ordinance; Animal Control placed under the direction and authority of the Forsyth Sheriff's Deot. for greater enforcement. Going forward, we hope to take our advocacy work to the state level to campaign for: Mandatory spay/neuter laws; A requirement for breeding licenses; Tougher penalties and enforcement fir cruelty cases.
