Gregory's Gift Of Hope, Inc - New Richmond Pet Shelter

Gregory's Gift Of Hope, Inc

Gregory's Gift of Hope sits on a 5.8 acre site in New Richmond, WI where we not only provide necessities such as food, shelter and medical care for our rescued dogs and cats, but also the loving arms of people who genuinely care about these animals. On any given day you may find between 24-32 rescued dogs of all ages, sizes, and breeds and anywhere from 100-120 kittens & cats residing at our facility (or in foster). We actively search out suitable homes for these dogs and cats by listing them on our website, Facebook, Adopt-a-Pet, Petfinder and other affiliates of these sites. Our screening process includes an in-depth application, reference checks, personal interactions, and a home visit to ensure the applicant's home and family is compatible with the pet's needs and our requirements. We ask adoptive owners to sign a detailed contract obligating them to give the animals a loving, safe home. Gregory's Gift of Hope also actively educates our community about spaying, neutering and microchipping their pets and showing compassion to the entire animal kingdom.

Adoption Process

Dogs - Read our Fencing Policy. Complete an adoption application (Submitting an application does not reserve your spot for the dog. You must meet the dog before being considered an applicant.). Application & references are reviewed. Dogs are shown by appointment only; we will connect with you to make this appointment. A home visit is then scheduled. And finally, if everything works out, a pick-up time will be set for you to bring your new canine companion home. We cannot guarantee a time-frame for completion of the full process - each application has its own considerations and if there are multiple applications for the same animal, the process is obviously lengthened. Exit veterinary visits can sometimes take a few days depending on their availability. You must also take into consideration that we are an animal "rescue" facility and emergencies often arise which take precedence over everything. We will do our best, however, to move things along in as timely a manner as we possibly can. Cats - Agree to our Indoor Living and No Declawing policies. Come to our facility to meet the potential cat to be adopted (we will not adopt cats out sight-unseen). A variety of private appointment times are available. We also have open "walk-in" hours during select times. Complete an adoption application (Submitting an application prior to meeting the cat does not reserve your spot for that cat. You can submit the application ahead of time if you wish, but you must meet the cat before being considered an applicant.). Your application will be reviewed and references contacted. Application approved - we will contact you to set up a pick-up time for you to bring your new feline companion home. Application denied - you are contacted and informed of denial. A few notes in regards to our process: You do not need to submit an application prior to meeting the cats. Submitted applications are not activated until you have visited and selected a cat for adoption. We will ask you questions during your visit regarding the type of cat you're interested in and will show you cats that fit your preferences. (If you have a specific cat in mind, we will show you that cat as well.). Appointment blocks will be kept to one hour. If you cannot decide on a cat to adopt within your time allotment, you will be asked to schedule another appointment. We cannot guarantee a time-frame for completion of the full process - each application has its own considerations and if there are multiple applications for the same cat, the process is obviously lengthened. (If there are multiple applications for the same cat, we make our decision based on best fit for the cat's needs.) Exit veterinary visits can sometimes take a few days depending on their availability. You must also take into consideration that we are an animal "rescue" facility and emergencies often arise which take precedence over everything. We will do our best, however, to move things along in as timely a manner as we possibly can.
