Great Dane Club Of Tucson Rescue - Tucson Pet Shelter

Great Dane Club Of Tucson Rescue

The Great Dane Club of Tucson was formed in March of 1968, to meet the needs of the average Dane owner in Southern Arizona. Realizing the lack of information available locally, we sought to form a club that was both interesting and informative to the pet owner as well as the breeder. Our aim was and remains to produce a better Dane, by informing our members on methods of breeding, exhibiting, nutrition and care of the Great Dane. We became affiliated with the Great Dane Club of America in September of 1969. In 1970 we had our first sanctioned match and in January of 2000, We held our First Back to Back Specialty. In the mid-seventies our club decided we needed a logo that took in our Southwestern Heritage and Carol Brooks came up with a design utilizing a Native American basket with a Dane head imposed within it, which is our present logo.
